We need action. We need it quickly.

Well, surprise surprise, OPEC plans on cutting production. Check out this article:

If that doesn't get your blood boiling, I don't know what does. We need energy that is our own.

In the coming weeks, I plan on educating myself as much as I can on the basis of the Pickens Plan and alternative energy sources. As I come across material that I believe would be useful and/or interesting, I will post the links on this blog.

In addition, if you are interested in posting original material to this blog, I welcome your contributions. Just let me know what you'd like to do and we'll work out all the details. It may sound cliche, but knowledge is power.

First, and MOST important!

Times of uncertainty are upon us. When confronted with uncertainty, we have choices we can make that can impact the future of both your life and the lives of others. I have created this blog as an avenue for YOUR voice; one that can be heard, one that can impact our lives, one that can shape the very future for which we all hope. Optimally, we will have an intelligent discourse on the most pressing issues of the day, which will result in ACTION affecting each and every one of us.

Growing up, I always found myself siding with Republicans. Perhaps it was a result of where I grew up (a relatively affluent NYC suburb), or perhaps it was because of the views of my parents. No matter the reason, as I have grown and been able to educate myself, I have discovered that party affiliation is not the way to get things done. Latching on to an issue, and doing everything you possibly can to bring your belief and plan to fruition is absolutely paramount. When you see something you like, and when you see something you think you can get behind, it is imperative that you do all that you can to motivate everyone around you to speak with one collective voice in order to enact the change you see necessary.

As presidential politics cloud the national conversation, I'd like to take the time to point out an extremely important issue that affects each and every one of us: Energy. We use it to heat our homes. We use it to fuel our vehicles. We use it to provide electricity to the environment around us. Each year, we send BILLIONS of your hard earned dollars overseas to a monopolistic oil cartel who cares little for your interests or concerns. In order for the United States to break the chains of energy oppression, we need to seek out domestic energy solutions that will revive our economy and relieve our dependence on sources who care not for your hard-earned dollar.

I am a strong advocate of T. Boone Pickens energy plan, and I believe that you should be, too. It will restructure our consumption in a way that creates jobs, helps the environment and ultimately, takes away less of your income. Please educate yourselves and visit www.pickensplan.com. Domestic, renewable and available energy resources are at our fingertips. We only need a strong, unified voice to compel our elected officials to forge the path which so many of us see as the most effective method of creating a country who once again relies on itself to power its own vibrant economy.
